Inter Counties Tournament in Cheshire – Saturday 28th April

On 27th April 2018, 35 keen athletes lead by Beds County, head coach Hayley Mackellar, 3 Academy coaches, (lTracy Gilloran, Claire Bowen and Heather Fordham), our Performance lead Maggie Jackson and 3 parent helpers (Keely Blair, Claire Beckett and Paula Farley), left the Bunyan Centre and travelled to Cheshire for the Inter Counties Netball Tournament. 

We entered 3 squads U13s, U15s and U16s and on the morning of the 28th April, everyone took to court in our sparking new Bedfordshire dresses. (thank you Tracy). The weather was kind and the competition was strong.

All the athletes played and conducted themselves to the very highest standard. This tournament gave the girls the opportunity to compete and be exposed to a very high level of competition. Many of the girls hadn’t played together before but they all bonded and supported each other on and off court.

The U13s finished 4th out of their group and 7 th out of 12. U15s 6 th from 6 in their section and U16s 7 th out of 12.

Many thanks for everyone that made this possible especially Head Coach Hayley who managed the logistics with Maggie and made sure we were all fed and watered. Thank you to the parents for the support you gave to our players to get them there and turned out so well.
