PLAY

Whether you are just starting out, play regularly or want to return to the game there’s a type of Netball to suit your background and ability. Bedfordshire is fortunate to have a variety of different netball formats delivered by wonderful clubs and coaches. We are also thrilled to have so many CAPs accredited clubs to support our younger players. To understand more about the role of CAPs click here.

BEE NETBALL

Bee Netball is England Netball’s fun and nurturing programme for children (aged 5-11-year-olds) at the beginning of their team sport journey. It is designed to introduce children to netball skills: throwing, catching, footwork and shooting.

More importantly, the programme is designed to support every child’s personal development on and beyond the court. All activities are underpinned by our Beeliefs; our core values are focused on improving your child’s belief in their own ability.

ADULT NETBALL

We are fortunate to have a multitude of well established adult netball teams within the county. We have 5 leagues servicing over 100 teams.

There are multiple ways to join an adult team, either reach out to the league secretary who may know if teams are looking for players, join local/league facebook groups (e.g. Individuals/Teams Looking for Players/Teams For Netball in Bedfordshire) or use the Engage Club finder to find a club that suits you (linked below).

JUNIOR & YOUTH NETBALL

Following on from Bee Netball, Bedfordshire has a thriving Junior and Youth Netball community. Most Junior clubs accept players starting from age 9 and support them all the way through to the end of Youth at age 16.

Junior and Youth Netball aims to build upon the skills gained from Bee Netball, and develop their game sense. At this age we also have county performance teams - you can find out more about performance netball under our performance tab.

WALKING NETBALL

Walking Netball is a friendly and inclusive programme, allowing women the opportunity to find their place in the sport. It’s netball, but at a walking pace where the rules are slightly tweaked.

Sessions are usually indoors, run by specially trained Walking Netball Hosts. It has been designed so that anyone can play, regardless of age or fitness level. From those who have dropped out of the sport they love due to injury to those who believed they had hung up their netball trainers many years ago.

BACK 2 NETBALL

Back to Netball creates a capsule of time and space for those juggling the demands of education, career, family, house, home, and, and, and you name it. Participants receive a warm welcome without expectations of demand or commitment. Sessions are progressive and trained coaches will guide you through the basics. Each session contains skill-based activity and fun game play.
